The image depicts a wooden area. Trees and foliage arch above, framing the scene. In the foreground, there is a figure standing in tall grass. A dark shape, possibly an animal, is beside them. The trees and leaves form a canopy, almost hiding the sky. The horizon is not clear in the vertically-oriented composition. The color scheme is sepia, giving an aged look. The brushstrokes are detailed, emphasizing the texture of the woodland setting.
