Geometric shapes outlined with wide black lines are filled with flat areas of color or stripes in this abstract horizontal woodcut. There are roughly three horizontal zones. The upper third is made up of a field of concentric circles made with black wavy lines, almost like wood grain, against a parchment-colored background. A row of jagged triangular shapes stretches the width of the composition across the center. The forms are black, white, or patterned with royal-blue and white stripes. The bottom-most zone is similarly made up of triangular shapes, but most of these are filled with pine green, as is a taller triangle to our left. The artist signed and dated the print in graphite on the paper below the lower right corner of the printed image: “S.P. I rf Lichtenstein ’80.”
