The image shows two women standing and facing each other in conversation. The woman on the left wears a bonnet tied under her chin and holds a large, plainly woven basket. The woman on the right also wears a bonnet and is dressed in a long dress with a shawl. She seems to be holding her hands together. Both women appear to be carrying baskets. In the background, there is a shaded doorway on the left and a lighter, possibly wood-paneled wall on the right.
