Artist, German, 1471 - 1528

This print depicts multiple people gathered around a central man who carries a large wooden cross. This man has long, wavy hair, a beard, and a crown of thorns on his head. He wears a robe of draped fabric tied around his waist with a rope, and a man in the bottom right corner is grabbing the front of his robe, trying to pull him forward. Many of the people around him appear to be soldiers, wearing armor and holding pointed weapons. On the left, near the bottom left corner of the print, are two people facing the central man and holding cloths, and one woman with a headscarf who has her hands clasped together and her head turned down. In the background is a tall structure, a small tree on the left, and an inscription located in the top right corner.
