Artist, French, 1864 - 1901

This painting shows a woman sitting at a round table. She has fair skin, sharp cheekbones, thick eyebrows, and pale lips with one side of her mouth raised in a partial smile. She has short brown hair with bangs across her forehead. She is wearing a black dress with a high collar, a pale yellow bow around her neck, and a white apron over her lap. In her hand, she holds a small, translucent glass that rests on the table. The background is a blurred blend of earthy tones, including brown, gray, and dark green, which suggest a wall behind her. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible.
