Associated Names
Camille Pissarro

Artist, French, born St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, 1830 - 1903

This painting shows a street view from a slightly elevated position. The tan path is lined with a few trees and houses. On the right, two people in dark dresses are walking along the street, and on the left we can see the side of a white house. More buildings with red roofs are visible in the distance, down the path that stretches from the bottom right corner into the center of the image. The sky is mostly white paper, with a few streaks of blue. The color palette is soft and muted, with browns, greens, pale blues, and touches of red, and the brushstrokes are loose and fluid.
