Artist, German, 1471 - 1528

This is a drawing of a jousting scene with two armored horses and riders. One rider is wearing elaborate armor and is carrying a lance and banner, accompanied by a heraldic lion figure. Another armored horse appears to have fallen with its rider represented by an animal form tangled in armor and limbs. The background includes clouds and dynamic lines. The artwork emphasizes dramatic and humorous elements using detailed linework and contrasting positions of the two figures.
