Artist, French, 1852 - 1931

The image shows a woman sitting on a bed. She is positioned with her body facing slightly to her left, her upper body supported by her left hand while her right hand rests on her knee. Her head is turned toward the viewer, and she has a slight smile. The woman has medium-length hair pulled up into a bun on top of her head. There are no clothes or jewelry. She sits on a bed with loosely draped sheets. The background consists of simple, minimal lines suggesting the continuation of the bed's surface and possibly a bedpost.
