This is a drawing of figures with a ladder in the background. The drawing shows several figures grouped on the right in loose garments. They have downturned heads. On the left, another group of figures is engaged with each other. A tall ladder leans diagonally to the right. The sketch features delicate, fluid lines giving an unfinished quality. The composition has empty space dominating the upper part of the canvas.
