Artist, German, 1500 - 1550

Three individuals are depicted in the image - two fully clothed figures stand on either side of a seated, partially nude person. The seated figure is in a defensive posture with one arm raised, partially covered with a draped fabric. They have long hair and are facing left. The standing figures grasp the seated person's arms. The figure on the left wears robes and has a bearded face. The figure on the right wears similar attire with a head covering and a beard. Both lean towards the seated individual. In the background on the right is a fountain with intricate designs, including a small statue of an archer on a pedestal. The scene is depicted in monochrome with white highlights on a textured blue surface.
