Artist, French, 1852 - 1931

This is a painting of a nude figure lying on rocks by a shoreline. The composition focuses on a reclining form draped over a smooth surface, surrounded by large, rugged boulders in a natural setting. The color palette is limited to sepia tones, contributing to a monochromatic aesthetic that enhances the texture and form of the rocks. There is a sense of tranquility and harmony within the natural environment, conveyed through the gentle brushstrokes and soft transitions between shadows and highlights.
