The drawing is from a side view, slightly elevated. The horizon is vague, and the composition leads the eye along a large gnarly tree trunk. There are two dynamic figures, one standing with a sword and the other lying on the ground. The drawing has loose brushstrokes and a limited color palette with sepia tones and black ink lines, creating contrast between the figures and the background. Clouds are lightly sketched in the distance.
