Artist, French, 1832 - 1883

This print shows an old man in an elaborate outfit, standing with his body facing the right and his head turned to us with a neutral expression. He has pale skin, rosy cheeks, a white mustache, bushy white eyebrows, and white hair that hangs down on either side of his face. He wears a large light blue tricorn hat and a frilly white collar over a blue and white tunic with lacy details. A large section of his chest appears to protrude forward and hang down. He has white and blue trousers, one red stocking and one blue stocking, and red shoes. The man appears to have his hands behind his back, holding a long wooden rod or staff. The background is plain beige paper.
