Artist, Venetian, 1702 - 1788

The image depicts a landscape from a slightly elevated point of view. The horizon is high in the image, just below the sky, with distant rocky hilltops and small buildings among trees. The brushwork is detailed, showing textures of rocks, vegetation, and water. The color palette is earthy and subdued with browns, greens, and grays dominating, complemented by hints of blue and red in the clothing of figures and the sky. Closest to us are figures near buildings and a stream, with more buildings and rocks visible in the distance, creating a sense of depth.
