They are wearing helmets and carrying large packs, suggestive of a military context. On the right in the foreground, a solo figure stands facing the group on the left. This figure is also dressed in a uniform with a helmet and a long coat, gripping something that extends downward. The person has a mustache and beard, with simplified facial features. The sketch features loose and bold graphite lines for the figures and the rocky terrain. The background shows sketchy outlines of piles of rocks or debris in a rough landscape.
