Artist, Scottish, 1876 - 1953

The image shows a garden scene with architectural elements. A large, ornate planter with a fountain is in the foreground on a paved area. Beyond this is an elegant balustrade separating the paved terrace from lush greenery in the distance. Tall trees are visible behind the balustrade. On either side are two classical open architectural structures; one featuring an arch with decorative carvings. The horizon merges with the trees. The artwork uses soft strokes in black and gray on textured paper, creating a spontaneous feel.
