The image shows an oval-shaped portrait featuring the upper torso of a man positioned facing slightly to his right, but looking directly at the viewer. His face is characterized by a prominent, pointed mustache and a small, pointed beard. His long hair, which extends past his shoulders, is wavy and parted in the middle. He is dressed in a suit of armor with decorative rivets, over which there appears to be a sash draped from his left shoulder to his right hip. The portrait is framed by an elaborate border containing text encircling the image. Below the oval, there is an ornate coat of arms and additional text. The background within the oval is textured with a tightly spaced pattern that contrasts with the smoother depiction of the man.
