Unidentified 17th century English collection; (unidentified Parisian dealer, around the 1930s); purchased by 1939 at Antonio Morassi's suggestion by Conte Rasini, Milan; (P.& D. Colnaghi, London); purchased by Ian Woodner, New York, by 1985; by descent to Andrea Woodner, New York, 1990, given to NGA.
