The image shows a bridge with an archway viewed from a distance, possibly from a slightly elevated position. There are buildings above the bridge and the horizon line is blurred. The artwork combines loose and precise etching techniques with a monochrome color palette of varying tones of gray. The bridge is in the middle of the composition with its reflection in the water. Buildings line the scene in the distance and small boats are visible on the water.
