She has hair peeking out from beneath a lace-trimmed cap or bonnet. The woman wears a long, dark dress with a fitted bodice and lace-trimmed wide collar, along with a light-colored floor-length underskirt. A pouch or decorative tassel hangs from her side. She holds a small object in her right hand near her waist. The background is plain, and the text at the bottom reads "Mercatoris Hanauiensis Uxor."
