The image shows a detailed, intricately etched scene from a slightly elevated viewpoint. In the foreground, a group of figures stands near a cannon on a wheeled carriage. To the left, a figure works near a large tree. Beyond this, there are thatched-roof buildings, a village road, and a church spire in the distance. Hills and a cloudy sky can be seen on the horizon. The artwork features fine linework, cross-hatching, and stippling for textures and depth. The monochrome brown color palette gives the scene an antique quality.
