Artist, French, 1837 - 1911

This print depicts a scene where a man is sleeping on the ground beneath low trees or bushes on the left side. Tall, slender trees are on the right side with branches reaching upward. Behind these bushes and trees, a landscape stretches into the distance, showing some low buildings and wide fields that extend towards the horizon. The sleeping man has a long white beard and mustache and appears to have light skin. He wears a light hat and a dark jacket and pants, and he is resting on his stomach with his head propped up on one hand. “
