This is a photograph of a ski pole in a pile of fresh, otherwise undisturbed snow. The ski pole has penetrated the surface of the white snow, and the silver pole protrudes from a circular hole with a cross shape in the middle. The shadow of the ski pole stretches across the bottom of the frame.
