This print shows two figures in an outdoor setting. In the center, a woman sits or kneels on grass, wearing a long dress with a low neckline and draped sleeves. Her curly hair is partially styled into an updo, with some stands falling around her face and down her back. She looks downward at the man who sits at her feet. He has a full, white beard and curly hair, a handful of which he holds up in one hand. The woman holds a pair of shears to the strands of hair, appearing to cut them. Part of his hair has already been cut short. The man is wearing a ruffled tunic with thin trousers and sturdy boots. He looks down at the ground. On the ground in the bottom left corner, there is a bottle, cup, and stacked plates with food scraps and a small knife. In the top left is a brick wall with an arched opening, and on the right are some tall, leafy trees in front of a cloudy sky.
