The image shows a man in a bust-length portrait. The man is positioned three-quarters to the viewer's right, looking towards the viewer with a slight smile. He has a long, slightly pointed nose, a groomed mustache and beard, wavy shoulder-length hair parted down the middle, and is wearing 17th-century clothing with a high-collared shirt and a dark vest or robe with an elaborate collar. The portrait is encased in an oval frame with a Latin inscription around it and a below emblem resembling a coat of arms. The background within the oval frame is a simple texture, contrasting with the detailed depiction of the man, while the outer areas contain a rectangular border.
