Artist, Venetian, 1696 - 1770

Three figures and a horse are depicted in this image. Two men are central, with one riding the horse in front of the other man, who is on foot. The rider wears a cloak and has curly hair, a strong nose, and a pronounced chin. The second man wears similar clothing, a full beard, and a head covering partially obscured by the horse's mane. The third man is crouched by the horse's shoulder, with short hair, a tunic, and boots. A staff or spear and a glove lie on the ground in the foreground. In the background, a barren branch extends from the right with an owl perched on it. The background is minimally detailed with a faint suggestion of landscape in the distance.
