Artist, Venetian, 1696 - 1770

This print shows an outdoor scene with three soldiers and a fourth person lying on their stomach. The soldiers are equipped with armor and long weapons, and two of them are talking to each other, their faces obscured, while the third looks directly at us. Another person lies on the ground on the right, wearing casual clothing and observing the soldiers. The setting is an open land with distant hills, and thin lines hint at trees. It is signed "Tiepolo" on the left. It is monochromatic, with dark lines on brown paper.
