The image shows towering mountains against a starry sky. A sliver of water or river is visible along with a stand of trees. The mountains rise dramatically in the distance with a stippled effect for texture. The brushstrokes are fine and densely packed, creating detail and a slightly grainy texture. The color palette is monochrome in shades of gray and black, providing a stark contrast and a sense of stillness.
