The image shows a steep, towering rock face dominating the right side of the scene. The base of the rock formation is visible, with a grove of tall, slender trees to the left. The brushstrokes are expressive, with sharp contrasts outlining the natural forms. The color palette is monochromatic, primarily using black and sepia tones on a light background. Sparse clouds are seen above.
