The image shows an elevated perspective looking towards a pyramid-shaped form in the distance on the right side, which appears to be an industrial slag heap. On the left are structures resembling industrial buildings and tall chimneys emitting smoke. The brushstrokes are loose and dynamic, with a monochromatic color palette of grey and black. Close to the foreground, there are a few human figures and a canal or pathway curving along the mound.
