The image shows a port town viewed from an elevated angle. The horizon is visible with ship masts. A fortified wall with an arched gateway is on the left, with figures passing through. Beyond the wall are structures with various roofs. A tall tower is centrally located. The scene is busy with people on horseback and engaging in trade. The brushstrokes are loose, creating a textured appearance. The color palette is muted, mainly browns and ochres, giving an antique feel.
