The image displays an elderly man in profile, standing and slightly bent forward as he knocks on a closed wooden door. The man has a long beard, wears a long robe or cloak, and a wide-brimmed hat that obscures much of his facial features and hair. He holds a walking stick in one hand and uses the other to gently knock on the door. At his feet, a small dog is also depicted in profile, its tail raised. The background shows an interior setting with rustic elements, including a wooden wheel and a wooden ladder-like structure leaning against the wall. There is a large wooden chair with a high back featuring intricate carvings or patterns. Hanging from the ceiling or upper wall is a set of unidentifiable objects. The image is rendered with cross-hatching techniques, suggesting an etching or similar artwork style.
