Artist, Dutch, 1606 - 1669

The image features a rural landscape with a thatched-roof building slightly to the right, a horizon in the distance blending into a line of trees. The brushstrokes show fine details, with cross-hatching creating texture in foliage and shadows. The color palette is monochromatic, using dark and light shades to depict contrast in sunny and shaded areas. The sky has light cross-hatching. Close to us, the ground is open and textured, leading to buildings and trees.
