William Nelson Copley opened the Copley Galleries in Beverly Hills. The short-lived gallery (1948-49) exhibited works of the Surrealists. Papers and records pertinent to the gallery are housed at the Archives of American Art, as is a scrapbook dating from 1953-1967, featuring such items as magazine clippings and Copley's newspaper column.
