This is a portrait of a man shown from the waist up, seated in a relaxed position with an arm resting on what appears to be the arm of a chair. His body is angled slightly towards the viewer's left, with his head turned to face directly forward. He has a distinguished face with a square jaw, prominent cheekbones, and a focused gaze. His hair is short and neatly combed, mostly gray. The man is dressed in a tailored suit jacket with a visible shirt and tie beneath, and his hands are partially visible at the bottom of the image. There is no visible jewelry or objects in his hands. The background is a lightly sketched indoor setting, hinted at by the suggestion of draped fabric and shadows. The drawing is signed "Violet Oakley 1942" at the bottom left of the image.

The image shows an elevated view looking down into a narrow urban alley-style courtyard. Tall buildings surround the space, blocking the horizon. The composition includes windows and structures closely packed together. The brushstrokes are brisk and expressive, creating contrast between light and shadow on the buildings and pathways. The color palette is monochromatic, using shades of black, white, and grey. The pathway is illuminated, casting shadows and giving depth to the space. Figures and objects are located near the edges, adding to the sense of activity in the urban environment.

The image shows a pencil drawing of a wooded area, with detailed branches and leaves in the foreground and faintly sketched trees in the background. Various shading techniques are used to create light and shadow contrasts, and the monochrome color palette enhances the natural feel of the scene. The branches and leaves in the front are depicted with more precision and density compared to the lighter, more distant elements.

The image depicts a serene scene with sailboats on a calm body of water. The perspective is low, showing a horizon with sailboats spread across it. The sketch is delicate with finely penciled lines. The color palette is muted, mainly light beige and gray. The water closest to us has a subtle texture with faint ripples. In the distance, sailboats suggest a distant shore or harbor. Handwritten notes on the lower edge add authenticity to the image.

This is a drawing of an indoor scene with chairs and lighting fixtures. The drawing shows an interior space with chairs arranged in a line. The viewpoint is from behind a group of chairs facing towards the opposite end of the space, where additional chairs and perhaps a window is depicted. The room is lit by overhead hanging lamps, and there are shaded areas indicating the use of artificial light casting shadows. The perspective creates a sense of depth and adds to the crowded atmosphere of the setting.
