Ann was one of the seven children of Ann Maria Stow and her husband George Phillips. Her grandparents were Edward [c. 1768-1845] and Nancy Brewer Peck Stow of Boston. Edward Stow worked in Boston and in Philadelphia, where he also served as agent for the artist Gilbert Stuart who painted a portrait of Stow now in the NGA (1942.8.23). Three of Ann's siblings were John, Edith, and Norah. [Compiled from sources and references recorded on CMS]
