Miller, Virginia Collins

Biography

Virginia Collins Miller was the wife of Dr. Thomas Miller, one-time owner of the William Thornton house on F Street in Washington, DC. Thornton is best known for his architectural designs, including that of the US Capitol, and of Woodlawn plantation in Fairfax, VA. Virginia's daughter, Anna Thornton Miller [later Mrs. Sterling Murray, 1836-1917] was named after William Thornton's wife.
