Odescalchi-Erba, Baldassare

Biography

Baldassarre Erba was made the lawful heir of his uncle, Principe Livio Odescalchi, Duke of Bracciano [1652-1713], at which time Baldassare assumed the name Odescalchi-Erba. Nephew of Pope Innocent XI, Livio was named prince by Emperor Leopold I. Baldassare had the Odescalchi palace, now a museum of coins and medals, built in Rome.
