Biography

Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum from 1908-1937 and an authority on illuminated manuscripts. In his youth, he was an admirer of John Ruskin and William Morris and worked as secretary to the Kelmscott Press before his appointment as Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum.
