Annie Buffum Williams inherited Joseph Badger's portraits of Captain Isaac Foster [1704-1781] and his wife Eleanor Wyler Foster [1714-1798] from Dr. Thomas Bellows Buffum. Dr. Buffum had inherited the portraits from his mother, Mrs. David Buffum, reportedly a descendant of the Fosters. Dr. Buffum also inherited Badger's portraits of the Foster children, Isaac, Jr. [1740-1781] and William [1732-1759], which were then owned by Annie Buffum Williams. All four Badge portraits are now in the NGA (1957.11.1-4). [Compiled from sources and references recorded on CMS]
