Biography

Delia Spencer was the daughter of Franklin J. Spencer, one of the founders of the Hibbard, Spencer, Barlett Company, wholesalers in Chicago. In 1877 she married Arthur Caton of Chicago who died in 1904. On 5 September 1905 Mrs. Caton became the second wife of retailer Marshall Field (1835-1906).
