    The image shows a portrait of a woman from the waist up, seated in a three-quarter view facing slightly to her right. Her facial features include high cheekbones, a straight nose, and brown eyes. Her hair is parted in the middle and smoothed back tightly, revealing her ears. She is wearing a dark dress with a high collar and white lace trim. Around her neck is a large bow or tie with light and dark blue stripes, accented by a brooch at the center. She has gold hoop earrings. The chair she sits in has a rich red upholstery with ornate wooden carvings. The background is a muted dark color.
