Biography

The principle member of this firm of art dealers was C.W. Dowdeswell, who died in 1915, and his son Walter (1858-1929). The firm went out of business and its stock was sold at Christie's, London, 7-9 February 1917, after which Walter Dowdeswell joined the Duveen Brothers firm.
