Workman, Elizabeth Russe

Biography

Mrs. Robert A. Workman, née Elizabeth Russe, collected modern painting in the 1920s with money made in her husband's shipping business. She was a frequent client of the London gallery of Reid & Lefevre. After the financial crisis of 1929 she was forced to sell much of her collection. In 1931 an estate sale was held at her home in London.
