The person's facial features are soft and delicate, with a gentle jawline, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. Their hair is dark and styled up in a bun, with curls visible around the temples. They are wearing a high-collared, dark garment that closely fits around the neck and shoulders. The background is a dark, solid color.

Profile of a Young Woman

Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer · 1885 · conté crayon over charcoal, with stumping, and touches of graphite, on orginally variegated, pink laid paper; laid down ·  Accession ID  2009.29.1

This is a drawing of a pastoral scene with mythological elements. The foreground features several figures reclining beneath the shade of large, flowing trees. At the center, two figures seem to be engaged in a serene interaction, perhaps sharing a drink from a large vessel. To the left, another figure lounges, holding a small cluster of grapes. The background shows distant, rugged mountains under a sky partially filled with clouds and sweeping lines. The use of ink and wash contributes to a classic, ancient feel, while the detailed rendering of the figures and foliage enhances the narrative quality of the drawing.

The scene is drawn in a loose, sketch-like manner. The figure is clad in draped garments, set against a backdrop of trees and a faint suggestion of distant fields or hills. The foreground includes a bird with its plumage fanned out. The lines and shading are executed with a brisk and energetic hand.

This is a drawing of a bustling street scene in a village or town. The drawing captures a lively scene with various activities taking place. A horse-drawn cart is situated to the right, barrels are being managed. The streets are cobbled, and there are architectural buildings in the background with steeply pitched roofs and chimney stacks. Figures are engaged in different activities along the street, tending to the barrels, bending down, and approaching a stall with goods. Foliage hangs over the structures, and the mood is busy and everyday. The drawing is detailed and intricate, with careful use of lines and a subtle color palette.
