The image shows a flat exterior wall from a direct point of view. The horizon line is low, where the wall meets the ground. The wall has two small square openings high up, one blacked-out window and the other possibly a vent. The textured base of the wall is even, and the surface above has a mottled pattern indicating a stucco finish. The color palette is grayscale with shades from white to dark gray. Other elements include a small pipe or valve and subtle textures, but the wall is the main focus.

Lewis Baltz · 1971 · gelatin silver print ·  Accession ID  2014.136.405

The image shows a tall, rectangular white brick structure protruding from a textured gray wall. The design is abstract, resembling a simplified chimney or a minimalist sculpture. The stark contrast between the white bricks and the gray backdrop creates a striking visual impact. The orderly arrangement of the bricks is reminiscent of a building block tower or an architectural model, set in a monochromatic environment that highlights its clean lines and form.

The image shows a collection of geometric shapes against a textured wall, including rectangles, a circle, and irregular forms. The arrangement of these shapes can suggest an urban skyline or building facade, with some shapes resembling structural elements like windows or vents. There is a contrast between a neatly aligned square in the bottom left corner and a darker spot nearby, possibly resembling a city street with manholes or utility covers.

Lewis Baltz · 1971 · gelatin silver print ·  Accession ID  2014.136.395

The image shows a ground-level point of view of a two-story building with a side view, featuring a large brick chimney extending from the ground to the roof. The horizon is low, with simple buildings and power lines visible against the cloudy sky. The house has a rough, textured exterior with minimal detailing, multiple rectangular windows, and a modernist aesthetic. The color palette is monochromatic due to the black and white photograph, emphasizing light and shadow contrasts on the building. Close to the building, there is rough land with stones and sparse grass leading up to the concrete base. In the distance, similar structures and utility poles are visible along a quiet residential street.

The image features a wall with strong horizontal and vertical lines, creating an abstract composition of geometric forms. The left structure resembles the side of a house with a shingled roof, while the wall on the right contains a rectangular window with darkened patterned glass. A sill underneath the window juts out in a rectangular form supported by two triangular brackets. The ground in front is bare and textured, resembling a rough, gravelly surface. The scene, captured in black and white, accentuates the stark contrast and abstract nature of the architectural elements.
