Koehler, Bernhard

German, 1882 - 1964

Bernhard Koehler was the son of the Berlin industrialist Bernhard Koehler (1849-1927), a noted patron of the Blue Rider group of artists, whom he knew through his niece Elizabeth, wife of August Macke. Koehler junior inherited his father’s collection and left a significant bequest of Blue Rider works to the Lenbachhaus in Munich.
