Biography

Mariana García Soler was the god-daughter of Sabasa Garcia, subject of a portrait by Goya now in the NGA (1937.1.88). Sabasa Garcia [b. 1790] and her husband Juan Peñuelas [1790-1850] were wealthy landowners of estates in Iruegas. Mariana was married to a Dr. Sota.
