Moore, Edward Small

American, 1881 - 1948

Biography

Son of William H. and Ada Small Moore, Edward Small Moore was born in Chicago. After attending Yale University, he became a railroad executive, first with the Rock Island and Pacific Railway and later with the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway. During World War I, Moore was director of divisional administration with the American Red Cross in Washington, and later a major in the Army. In 1928, Moore moved to Wyoming, where he operated a cattle ranch and published a newspaper. Later in life he became a race horse owner, owning a race horse establishment near Lexington, KY. Moore was

married firstly to Jean McGinley (later Mrs. Charles Dana Draper, 1884/1885-1954), and secondly to Evelyn Nickels. He had two children, Edward Small Moore, Jr., and Mrs. John T. Adams.
