Biography

Philip Longmore was a lawyer in Hertford. On 9 December, he married Sabine [d. 1868], daughter of Jacob Elton, of dedham, Essex. They had a son, Matthew Skinner [1828-1878], who also became a lawyer. Matthew married Anne [d. 1893], daughter of Rev. Joseph Samuel Stockwell, Rector of Wylye, Wiltshire; they had a son, Charles Elton (later Sir). As Matthew predeceased his father, Philip's grandson succeeded him in the Hertford estate.
